▌PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
>> CUT THE CORD. KEEP THE SIGNAL. <<
Your rig is only as free as its power source. Tethered to a wall wart, it’s a bench toy. Tethered to a USB brick in your pocket, it’s a liability with a cable hanging off it. The work happens out there, and out there there’s no outlet.
The Rabbit-Labs 1000mAh LiPo Battery is a single-cell lithium polymer pack that turns any compatible build into a self-contained field unit. 3.7V nominal. 1000mAh. 3.7Wh. Flat, quiet, and gone the moment it slides behind your PCB.
This is the 523450 footprint: roughly 50 x 34 x 5.2 mm of stored energy at about 20 grams. Thin enough to tuck under a badge, behind a display, or inside a 3D-printed shell without redesigning the enclosure. Pre-wired leads terminate in a 2-pin JST connector [CONFIRM: PH 2.0mm], so there’s no soldering to a bare cell and no guesswork at the bench.
The official replacement battery for the ESP32 Biscuit. Rabbit-Labs supplies the factory battery for the ESP32 Biscuit. This is that exact cell, and it’s a direct, plug-and-play replacement. Same size, same connector, same fit. When your Biscuit’s original pack is tired, puffy, or just not making it through the night anymore, swap it and keep scanning.
Protected, not naked. An onboard protection circuit watches the cell for overcharge, over-discharge, and short circuit, and cuts it off before a bad day becomes a worse one. You handle the mission. The PCM handles the chemistry. The cell is UN38.3 tested and ships at approximately 30% charge in line with IATA and US DOT lithium battery shipping regulations.

Applications that matter:
ESP32 Field Builds. Most ESP32 dev boards ship with a JST battery port and an onboard LiPo charger. Plug in, charge over USB, unplug, walk away. Your scanner, logger, or sensor node goes wherever you do.
Badges & Wearables. Thin enough to hide behind a badge PCB, light enough to wear on a lanyard all day. Enough capacity to keep LEDs, a display, and a radio alive through a long con day.
Handhelds & Cyberdecks. Clean single-cell power for compact handheld builds and portable dev rigs where a power bank and a USB cable would kill the form factor.
Official ESP32 Biscuit Replacement. We supply the Biscuit’s factory battery, so this is the exact cell it ships with, not a lookalike. Unplug the old pack, plug this one in, close it up. No adapters, no rewiring, no downtime.
Replacement & Rebuild. Swap out a tired or swollen 523450 pack in any other device and bring it back from the dead. Check polarity first. Always.
One cell. 1000mAh. No outlet required.
▌README.TXT – INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
Compatibility: This is a 3.7V single-cell LiPo pack for devices designed to run from one lithium cell and charge it at 4.2V. It is the official replacement battery for the ESP32 Biscuit and also fits other devices with a matching 2-pin JST battery port. It is not a drop-in replacement for alkaline, NiMH, or multi-cell packs.
Step 1: Inspect Remove the pack from its packaging. Check the pouch for dents, punctures, or swelling, and check the leads and connector for damage. Do not use a damaged pack.
Step 2: Verify Polarity 2-pin JST battery pinouts are not standardized between manufacturers. The pack is wired to match the ESP32 Biscuit. For any other device, compare the red (+) and black (-) leads against the + and – markings on the battery port before plugging in. If they don’t match, stop. Reversed polarity can destroy your device instantly.
Step 3: Connect Seat the connector straight into the port. Grip the plastic housing, not the wires, when connecting or disconnecting.
Step 4: Charge Charge only with a single-cell lithium charger set to 4.2V, or through your device’s built-in LiPo charging circuit. The battery ships at approximately 30% charge, so give it a full charge before first use. Charge at 0-45°C, on a non-flammable surface, and stay nearby during the first charge.
Step 5: Mount Mount the pack flat, away from voltage regulators, power amplifiers, and other heat sources. Avoid sharp edges, screws, and pressure points. Leave a little room in the enclosure. Do not clamp the pouch tight.
Step 6: Store For storage longer than a few weeks, leave the pack partially charged (about 3.8V) and keep it in a cool, dry place. Don’t store it fully charged or fully empty.
PRO TIP: Measure the pack voltage with a multimeter when it arrives and note it. If your device ever acts strange, a quick voltage check tells you in five seconds whether the problem is the battery or everything else.
▌DEBUG LOG – TROUBLESHOOTING
ISSUE: Device won’t power on with the battery connected. FIX: Check polarity first. Then measure the pack voltage at the connector. If it reads near 0V, the protection circuit has likely tripped after a deep discharge. Connect it to a charger to reset the PCM. If it still reads 0V after a few minutes on charge, stop and do not use the pack.
ISSUE: Connector doesn’t fit the battery port. FIX: 2-pin battery connectors come in several pitches (2.0mm PH, 1.25mm, and 1.0mm SH are common). Compare your device’s port to the pack’s connector. Don’t force it, and don’t modify the connector unless you’re experienced with lithium wiring.
ISSUE: Charger reports full immediately, or won’t start charging. FIX: Reseat the connector and check for a loose crimp or broken lead. Confirm the charger is a single-cell 3.7V/4.2V lithium charger. NiMH and multi-cell chargers will not charge this pack correctly.
ISSUE: Runtime is shorter than expected. FIX: Cold temperatures cut usable capacity, and high current draw (WiFi transmit bursts, bright displays, LEDs at full) drains it faster. Capacity also declines naturally over hundreds of charge cycles. Lower the load or warm the pack to room temperature and retest.
ISSUE: Device browns out or resets under load. FIX: The load may be pulling more current than the pack can deliver, or the pack is near empty. Recharge and retest. If it persists, add bulk capacitance near the device’s regulator input or reduce peak current draw.
ISSUE: Pack is swollen, hot, leaking, or smells sweet or chemical. FIX: Stop immediately. Disconnect it if you can do so safely, move it to a non-flammable area away from anything combustible, and take it to a battery recycling drop-off. Do not charge, puncture, or reuse it.
▌SYS.WARN – WARNINGS, HAZARDS & DISCLAIMERS
Lithium Battery Hazard. Lithium polymer batteries can catch fire, vent, or explode if punctured, crushed, short-circuited, overcharged, over-discharged, or overheated. Handle with care at all times.
Short Circuit. Never short the battery leads. Keep the connector covered or isolated when it’s not plugged in, and don’t let the leads contact metal objects, tools, or other batteries.
Charging. Charge only with a single-cell lithium charger rated for 4.2V. Never use NiMH, NiCd, or lead-acid chargers. Do not charge unattended, on a flammable surface, or outside the 0-45°C charge temperature range. A LiPo-safe charging bag is recommended.
Polarity. Connector pinouts vary between manufacturers. The user is responsible for confirming correct polarity before connecting. Reversed polarity can permanently damage the connected device.
Physical Damage. Do not puncture, bend, crush, cut, or deform the pouch. Do not solder directly to the cell, and do not remove or bypass the protection circuit.
Swelling or Damage. Stop using the pack immediately if it swells, leaks, overheats, or shows physical damage. Move it to a non-flammable area and recycle it.
Transport Certification. This cell is UN38.3 tested and is shipped at approximately 30% state of charge in line with IATA and US DOT lithium battery shipping regulations. The UN38.3 test summary and certification are available upon request to authorities, carriers, and other parties with a legitimate need.
Not a Toy. This product contains a lithium battery and small parts. Keep out of reach of children and pets.
