The H4R is the most refined portable HackRF bundle we’ve ever built – a serious step up from the H4M PortaPack, engineered for RF enthusiasts who demand reliability, precision, and field-ready performance. Whether you’re sniffing signals, analyzing protocols, or just exploring what’s floating through the air around you, the H4R is built to keep up.

What’s Included

The H4R ships fully preassembled with a Clifford HackRF at its core, enclosed in your choice of case:

• Clear case (standard)
• Custom RL Purple case (available at additional cost)

Both configurations feature aluminum standoffs and flush-fit metal screws for a clean, battle-ready build that holds up in the field.

Key Upgrades Over the H4M Porta Pack

We didn’t just iterate – we fixed what actually mattered.

• Upgraded display – Improved screen for better readability in any lighting condition, day or night
• Aluminum standoffs – Stronger and more durable than plastic alternatives, built to take a beating
• Flush metal screws – Sit cleanly within the case for a polished, snag-free finish
• Rabbit Labs upgraded lithium-ion battery – Higher capacity for extended sessions, because running out of juice mid-op isn’t an option
• PK Cell CR2032 button cell battery – Some of the longest-lasting button-cell lithium batteries on the market, keeping your PortaPack working reliably
• Tediously sourced temperature compensated timing crystal – Hand-selected for frequency accuracy and critical for precise RF timing. We searched high and low to source the exact TCXO the Portapack was designed to use – not a close substitute, the right one.

Antenna Bundle – Four High-Gain Antennas Included

The H4R ships with a quad-antenna pack tuned for the frequencies that actually matter:

• 433 MHz – IoT devices, remote controls, key fobs
• 915 MHz – LoRa, smart meters, industrial sensors
• 2.4 GHz – Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Zigbee
• 315 MHz whip antenna – Garage doors, legacy remotes, automotive systems

Each antenna is built for high performance to maximize signal capture and transmission range across its band. The Rabbit-Labs 315 MHz whip antenna deserves a special mention – it’s 100% custom-built and flat-out overperforms on the 315 MHz band.

Storage

Includes an 8GB SD card preloaded with the Rabbit Labs splash screen – drop it in and get to work.

Clock SMAs

Clock SMAs are included unsoldered, giving advanced users full flexibility to configure external clock synchronization for precision timing applications. And unlike the H4M – they actually work, because we used the correct timing crystal from the start.
